My name is Bonnie Trentadue , I went to York
University for 4 years and have an Honours Degree in
History/Political Science. I also graduated from
Sutherland-Chan Massage School and Teaching Clinic in
1997 and have practiced as an RMT since then. I have worked
in a number of health care settings during my internship including
-the perinatal unit at Women's College Hospital
-retirement home internship while at Sutherland-Chan School
-drug and alcohol detoxification center for Natives
I have taken many courses in pregnancy and infant massage during my training at Sutherland-Chan and have taught the subject
"Therapeutics"(which means massage treatment for specific conditions like sciatica, carpal tunnel etc.)at the Canadian
College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in the year of 2000.
I also worked in the health and fitness industry at the Dunfield Club as part of a team of Registered Massage Therapists
for 5 years treating sports and fitness related injuries.
I specialize in deep tissue massage, relaxation massage and pregnancy and infant massage. I was drawn to Holistic health
care during my time at York University while my friend was becoming a Shiatsu Therapist. I was most interested in massage
therapy because I liked the science behind the art.
I stumbled upon homeopathic medicine, as most do, in
fact I was fairly closed minded to natural medicines
until I got a lung infection that was not going away. I had a very bad case of pneumonia and seeing as the traditional
Allopathic medical route was not helping me I decided to try out the Homeopath my friends had wanted me to see.
To my surprise, the medicine worked efficiently, quickly and completely, allowing me to return back to work after a 2
week haiatus . I was perplexed and upon our follow up visit asked what I had taken, I was told that it was a Homeopathic remedy.
I was directed to several
books about Homeopathics and it all made sense to me. At that time I was accepted into York University's teachers college
and decided todecline that offer. Instead, I enrolled into the Toronto School of Homeopathic Medicine. I am very passionate
about my love of Homeopathics and
fascinated by how it acts as a catalyst to spark the
body's innate desire to heal itself. My own son had a
strong susceptibility to excema and I treated him from
6 weeks old with a remedy.
It took 9 months to remove his susceptibility to excema but now he has perfect skin. I love treating children and pregnant
women with both Massage Therapy and Homeopathics probably because I have experienced pregnancy and labour myself and can appreciate
the life altering changes that are inevitable as well as the difficulties which can
arise after and during labour and delivery.
I continue to explore all ares of holistic healing and medicine and look forward to expanding my practice here in Markham.
After graduating from the Toronto School of Homeopathic Medicine, I worked as an RMT and a Homeopath, and over the next 2
years I completed an excellent post-graduate course entitled, "Homeopathy By The Book" by renowned Homeopaths Dr.
Joseph Kellerstein (ND and HD) and Monica Frohmann, HD.
